Experiences with microdosing
The stories on this page relate to experiences with microdosing LSD, magic truffles and magic mushrooms. The effects of these psychedelics are broadly similar.
When I start talking to a friend about the microdose experiment I have started, she indicates that she has heard of it before. And she's not the only one. Whereas a few years ago you were probably looked at with strange eyes, more and more people are microdosing it. Where did that come from anyway?
"I had tried all kinds of things to reduce the symptoms of PMS, but nothing helped. Then a good friend of mine told me about microdosing. By now I had been struggling with PMS for seven years and wanted to get rid of that mental battle. After seeing a documentary on fungi, I thought, "Wow, this just grows in nature. I delved further into it by listening to podcasts and reading articles. Finally, I ordered magic truffles and started.

Someone who has been microdosing for a while is podcaster Sjanett de Geus. "I really notice that I have more energy. Not physical energy, like after drinking coffee, but mental energy. In the research podcast *Trees*, Volkan Duvan talks with Deniz, Roman, Sjannet, Matthijs, and others about how and why they’ve “gone micro.” Deniz explains, for example: “In our modern lives, it’s very easy to get lost in the hustle and bustle of everyday life. That’s why I thought microdosing might help me find a little more peace. I have to say I noticed a subtle change. Not a huge change in the way I view the world or anything like that, but I did feel more grounded in myself.”

More and more people are taking tiny amounts of psychedelics in hopes of solving their mental problems - though sometimes it is also purely out of curiosity. "I felt like I became more empathetic as a boss," he says.
"I am a believer in psychedelics and believe they can change the world," Eva (42) says. She heads a large organization, and it was a combination of curiosity and work pressure that led her to microdose lsd for several months, which means using about one-tenth of a recreational dose."
There are several reasons why people microdose. Some do it to experiment, others in hopes of achieving certain effects, such as improved mental states. Research on microdosing is still in its infancy; its effects have not yet been proven.
"Noticed slight improvement, definitely no negative side effect or hallucinations", "I found it a bit scary anyway (was afraid of getting some kind of trip anyway) and stopped after just 1 dose...", "Not warily stoned, more open though".
