What is Microdosing?
Microdosing means periodically consuming a small, sub-perceptual dose of a psychedelic substance (5-10% of a regular dose), such as lsd, magic mushrooms or truffles. The dose is so low that no hallucinogenic effects occur (i.e., you don't trip from it and remain "in control" yourself), but it can cause subtle changes in mood, perception and cognitive abilities.
Microdosing is therefore ideally suited for use in everyday life.
The purpose of microdosing is to experience the benefits and healing powers of psychedelics, without the intensity of a full dose. So without "tripping.
The benefits of microdosing
The benefits of microdosing are diverse and can vary from person to person. Most people who microdose experience improved focus and productivity, increased creativity and problem-solving abilities, increased empathy, improved mood and reduced anxiety, stress and tension.
Studies have shown that microdosing can help relieve symptoms of depression, anxiety disorders and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). In addition, some studies suggest that microdosing can promote neuroplasticity, which can lead to long-term positive changes in the brain.

Why is microdosing so popular?
Microdosing has become increasingly popular in recent years, especially among people looking for alternative ways to promote mental and physical health. In a world where stress and burnout are common problems, more and more people are looking for ways to support their health without relying on traditional (chemical) medication.
The huge number of positive stories and experiences about microdosing with psychedelics, which you find everywhere in the media and on the Internet, has contributed to a wider acceptance of psychedelic drugs. The personal stories of microdosers encourage other people to try it too.

The range of "magic mushroom grow kits," truffles, legal highs (such as 1P-LSD) and other psychedelics is overwhelming these days. On the Internet, but also at the smartshop around the corner, you will find an impressive assortment. The offer of ceremonies, during which you consume a full dose of a psychedelic (ayahuasca, truffles, and so on) under supervision, has exploded in the past 5-10 years.
There is also increasing interest in microdoses from scientific circles.
Research on microdoses: what do the studies say?
Although microdosing is still a relatively new field for scientific research, there have been promising studies that have examined the potential benefits of microdosing. For example, a recent study conducted by the University of Toronto found that microdosing psychedelics such as LSD and psilocybin caused improvements in creativity and convergent thinking skills.

Another study, conducted at Johns Hopkins University, showed that microdosing may be effective in reducing depression and anxiety symptoms.

These sources offer a wide range of insights into the practices, benefits and potential challenges of microdosing with psychedelics such as LSD. Although the results and conclusions of the studies are promising, much more research is needed to fully understand the long-term effects and safety of microdoses.
Is microdosing something for me?
If you are healthy/fit and not on any medications, then you can confidently start microdosing. If you are taking medication, consult a doctor if possible to make sure the medication you are taking does not interact with the drug you want to microdose with (there is a lot of information online on this topic).
If you have mental health issues, if you suffer from psychosis or a mental disorder, if you have epilepsy or if you are under treatment, be extra careful when microdosing psychedelics and consult a doctor, therapist or other professional before you start microdosing.
The user himself is responsible for any adverse effects of microdosing.
